Sewage Treatment Plant
High Performance Aerated Filter (HiPAF) system
The HiPAF Compact series provides highly efficient and cost effective sewage treatment for communities from 5 to 50 people. Midi and Modular systems with separate settlement tanks serve large populations.
Completely self contained, HiPAF Compact units are available as a single-piece tank. The entire range is designed for below-ground installation and is unobtrusive in every respect. There are no moving parts within the plant itself, thereby simplifying any maintenance requirements. Duty or standby air blowers, control panel, timers and solenoid valves are all conveniently housed in a small acoustically insulated GRP kiosk adjacent to the plant.

just outside of Yeovil on the A39 approached Sparrow to overcome the problems
they were experiencing in the old sewage plant. Sparrows liaised with the client
and undertook a complete turnkey project, from obtaining the discharge consent
through the Environment Agency to the installation and ongoing maintenance.

Duplex Water Softener
The need to reduce the hardness of water is the most common form of water treatment. Hard water is created when naturally soft rainwater percolates through subterranean rock strata and dissolves many solids including, in particular, calcium and magnesium.
There
are many areas, therefore, where the water supply contains a significant level
of these salts. It is called "hard water" because of the hard deposits
created when this type of water is used in many systems.
Sparrow was approached to overcome this hardness in a large domestic dwelling near Sherborne. Utilising a duplex water softener eliminated the problem. The flow of water to service is metered and when the first column reaches exhaustion the control valve automatically switches the service flow to the second column and then regenerates the exhausted first column. In this way a duplex softener is capable of giving a continuous 24-hour supply of softened water.
Duplex softeners are therefore ideal
for sites with large variations in water demand or for applications where a
continuous and uninterrupted supply of soft water is essential.
